Beautiful. Just perfectly what I need to hear. And pass forward to those who need it. Love.

The perfect post to help us all embrace freedom tomorrow. I am 72 and free to do whatever I like. So I am still moving and learning and seeking.

Thank you, Cheryl, I like the way you say that. The right truth can be found in any moment I suppose, if we can get quiet enough to see it.

I read this earlier and my mind couldn’t put together a response. I just read a description for why Jesus so often spoke in parables: James Martin in “The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything” writes “The parable form is one of the primary ways in which Jesus of Nazareth communicates his understanding of elusive but important concepts. Where a strictly worded definition closes down thought and can be shallow, a story opens the hearers mind and is endlessly deep.”

I think this explains why I had a hard time putting an initial response together because your story has opened my mind and it is deepening my understanding of freedom.

As always, Kelly, thank you for using story to communicate important and sometimes elusive concepts.

It's one of the reasons I love writing fiction, Rho. You can feel the truth in it before you can even think about it. We think thought is the doorway to understanding, but oftentimes story is the doorway and thought is what we find once we're in the room with it. 😊

Thank you Kelly. A new take on words that we toss around every day. Especially timely due to tomorrow being the 4th. As I ponder your words, and am reminded to be grateful for “here.” All of it.

Teyani, that reminds me of a quote I heard somewhere: “You can’t be grateful for every moment, but you can be grateful in any moment.” There’s almost always something “here” that we can be thankful for.

My immediate response to reading this Kelly...Whoa. Wow. Hmmm. Sobering. Wise as Hell. Disappointingly true as Hell. How adult is this?? Can I actually do this? I am definitely going to share this beauty with all my sons and even my daughter in law. Especially love the letter from Love. So beautiful and a gift to yourself and to the rest of us for the inspiration to indulge in such a courageous endeavor. What a perfect post for tomorrow's ambivalent feelings of the day. A grateful way to now transcend my original mindset. TY Kindly.

Oh the list of all of the things I thought would bring me freedom...It's fascinating to watch the mind offer up more potential solutions, though none will bring it. In reading this post I realize that I have often wanted to be free FROM the human condition - and nobody gets that pass. And the reality is, that would be a life of very little meaning.

YES. Wonderful observation, Jane. It makes me think: we are about to see an intelligence (artificial) that is free from the human condition, and I think we are going to get to watch how meaningless it feels. Perhaps one of the unexpected outcomes of it will be a new appreciation for the human condition!

Wouldn't that be something? An appreciation for the human condition! In its entirety...
